The printing quality of this book is stunning - the colours are still as vibrant as they would have been the day it was printed. I reckon it was before WW2, looking at the style of the drawings. The Soviet Government of the time must have had a large budget for literature - and lots of cheap labour. Curiously, the text is in English (maybe it was produced for export - who knows). Thank you for these two posts! I didn't know about this edition, and the illustrations are quite striking.
